The Indian Institute of Science

The Indian Institute of Science was established in 1909 giving shape to the extraordinary vision of J. N. Tata. It has been in the forefront of Science and Technology research and development in the country and has contributed significantly in India's progress during these years. Tata Institute has been an integral part of the culture of Bangalore and its progress during the past 102 years. This Run is symbolic to strengthen the support for science and technology and ties to the Institute from the people of Bangalore.

The Idea

The participants in this Run include the IISc fraternity and alumni, corporates from "Silicon Valley" of India, students from science and engineering colleges across Bangalore and local people who care about science and technology. Exposure of participants to this campus is aimed to enhance the awareness of the impact Science and Technology has had in the city and will increase the scientific temper of our youth community.

With more than 1500 participants in each of the previous events in 2008 and 2010, you can expect a thrilling mass spirit this year around hundreds of acres of sprawling green campus.
